NASA CCMC DONKI provides research and event context. For the official U.S. operational space-weather forecast, use NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. Modelled arrival times are estimates, not guaranteed Earth impacts or local aurora times.

NASA DONKI role

NASA CCMC DONKI can supply near-real-time research and event context for CMEs, flares, geomagnetic storms, interplanetary shocks and linked model analyses. Every DONKI item remains labelled research context.

Operational authority

For the official U.S. operational space-weather forecast, GreenHalos links NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. It never calls DONKI an official forecast or turns a model-estimated arrival into a guaranteed local aurora time.

Failure isolation

If event context is unavailable, NOAA operational forecasts and the rest of the site remain usable. A NASA source failure never erases NOAA data, and an event timeline never blocks static educational or legal content.
